Patch Test & Safety

Last updated: 23 October 2026

Even the gentlest formula can disagree with someone's skin. A patch test is the simplest way to check before you start. It takes two minutes, then a day or two of patience.

How to patch test

  1. Pick a spot. Apply a small amount to clean skin on the inside of your wrist or elbow.
  2. Leave it. Wait 24–48 hours. Don't wash the area or cover it.
  3. Check it. Look for redness, itching, swelling or irritation.
  4. All clear? Start using it as directed. Keep an eye on how your skin responds over the first few days.

Stop using it if you notice

Redness, burning, stinging, itching, swelling, a rash or any other irritation. Rinse the area with cool water. If it doesn't settle, or you're concerned, speak to a doctor or pharmacist.

Check with your doctor first if you

  • have a known allergy to any of the ingredients
  • have eczema, psoriasis, rosacea or another skin condition, or are being treated for one
  • have broken, damaged or very irritated skin
  • are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • are buying for a child under 12

Everyday safe use

  • For external use only. Don't swallow.
  • Avoid the eye area. If it gets in your eyes, rinse well with water.
  • Don't apply to cuts, open wounds or broken skin.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
